Oops, I did it again...

Ok, so as you know by now, I'm (really) into vintage painted backdrop pictures. A friend of mine recently showed me a vintage photo of a biplane backdrop from WWII, complete with a few soldiers all squeezed into the "plane". That very second, I decided to make a new backdrop to take to reenactment events. I set it up and took pictures of reenactors (for free and just for fun).

This two-canvas backdrop design is pretty classic. The reason it's made of two canvases is pretty obvious - it needs a "front" and a "back" to create the illusion that someone is inside the plane. Back in the day, this two-canvas design was used for images of planes, hot air balloons, etc. In the age of greenscreen and computer animation, it's really so, very, very simple and low-budget. Tell me honestly. Which is more fun?

I'm still having a lot of fun using the other backdrop too.
