I will receive the files early in the new year.
I will then proceed to make DVDs for donors and other folks as well.
I hope to ship them out in late January.

I spoke with the lab and the end is in sight now!!
They have some final work to do, then I have to review and approve that work, and then DVDs get made (and distributed) and film goes off to festival.
Thank you everyone for your patience and support!!

Revision 1.O is off to the editor.
Undoubtedly there will be some changes.
But overall, I'm hopeful and I have my fingers crossed.
Once I get a thumbs up, i will "lock it down" and
move on to the technical stuff.

Just a quick update since I've been quiet for so very long.
First off, I moved, and that took a couple of months out of my work schedule. Of course that was a piece of cake when compared with reason number two.
Second, I began working on the film again in early October and immediately suffered an outright hard drive crash.
Seven yeas of work disappeared right in front of my eyes. I had a few delays before i could work on the rebuild. And believe me that made for very long days and sleepless nights.
Rest assured, the danger has passed and I did manage to rebuild the film (minus a couple of inconsequential files).
Im back at work and hope to have some updates for you in the new year.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

Just a quick update since I've been so quiet for a long time.
The reason for falling off the radar is that I am still editing. I am getting very close but it takes a *lot* of time to do it right. It involves making sure that *every* single frame is where it should be, not one more and not one less.
2015 is the year! I don't yet know what month it will be but I do know without a doubt that it will be finally and fully completed this year.

So ALL perks (minus DVD's) are now mailed out!!
If you don't see yours in a week or so, give me a holler.

Even though the indiegogo campaign has ended, I've learned that I can continue offering the same perks through my 501c3 Fractured Atlas (below)

If you were thinking of donating to my film project but did not have a chance you can still get all of the same perks by clicking on the image and hitting "Donate" on my page. Yes indeed the tax deduction still applies too.  We got very close to our goal. Please consider pushing us over the mark!
thank you everyone!!

Sometimes remembering a war is not about the soldiers that fought it

Today is International Holocaust Remembrabce Day. Typically, its here and gone before I even realize its happening. Today someone reminded me so I'm posting a blog that i had been meaning to for awhile.
This is Frank. I met him while doing a little video work for the Holocaust Speakers Bureau.
(photo used with permission)
He's one of the lucky ones who managed to get out of germany. When he was eight years old the situation for Jewish people in Oppeln Germany was very ominous indeed. Franks family decided to emigrate to the US. Luckily they were able to.
Frank was only allowed to take one thing with him. He decided to take his companion, his teddy bear.
Guess how old the bear in the photo is...
